I work across digital product development, cultural memory and research.
Most of my professional work happens through Mowa Product Studio, where I lead and build digital products for clients and develop independent projects of my own.
I also run Oriire as Founder & Editor-in-Chief. Oriire is a non-profit publication and digital archive focused on mythology, folklore and cultural memory from Nigeria and across Africa.
Before moving into independent work, I spent several years in product management across media, advertising technology and aviation. I'm also completing a PhD in Media & Communications at the University of Nicosia.
How I got here
I started out working across marketing and digital roles, including work that involved websites, campaigns and operational systems. Over time I found myself more interested in the products behind that work, in how they were structured, why certain decisions were made and how they could be improved.
That led me into product management. I worked on internal operational tools as well as customer-facing products, usually working between business needs, users and technical teams.
Eventually, I wanted to get closer to the actual making of the product. So I began taking on more of the design and development work myself. What started as a way of being more hands-on became a broader shift in how I wanted to work, closer to the problem and able to carry an idea from definition through to something people could actually use. This led to founding Mowa Product Studio in 2025.
Mowa Product Studio
Mowa Product Studio is where most of my professional work happens today. I work directly with clients on digital products, usually across product strategy, interaction design and development, and I also use the studio to build independent products and experiments.
Projects vary considerably in subject matter, from data-rich archives and civic information products to business software and interactive storytelling. What tends to stay consistent is that they involve turning complex information, workflows or ideas into products that are clear enough for people to actually use.
Oriire
Oriire began separately from my commercial product work. I founded it in 2020 as a publishing project focused on African mythology and folklore, after repeatedly encountering how fragmented and difficult to navigate much of that material could be online.
It has since developed into a non-profit publication and digital archive focused on mythology, folklore and cultural memory from Nigeria and across Africa. I continue to lead Oriire as Founder & Editor-in-Chief, working across editorial direction, organisational development and much of the platform infrastructure behind it.
Oriire has also become one of the places where my interests in publishing, archives, digital systems and cultural preservation come together most visibly.
Doctoral research
In 2025 I began a PhD in Media & Communications at the University of Nicosia. My research examines product development as a communicative process in founder-led niche media platforms.
The doctorate is a separate strand of my work. It came from an interest in the kinds of product decisions that are often difficult to see from outside small, founder-led media organisations, particularly where founders stay involved in product, editorial, governance and audience decisions.
